Genetic Relationship and Diversity among Pea (Pisum sativum L.) Genotypes Assessed using Morphological and Molecular Markers

Background: The study assessed the genetic relationship and diversity among twenty-two pea genotypes using morphological traits SSR markers. Methods: 22 were analyzed twenty-one phenotypic characters eight data obtained by molecular profiling was used to analyze genotypes. Result: This reveals that most variation due within population clustered into two distinct groups. As revealed markers, relation diversified not significantly correlated with those based on traits, suggesting systems give different estimates of relations present study’s findings can be select diverse as parents crosses aimed at breeding improved cultivars.
